Paths That Lead To Home is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that exists to empower Haiti’s orphans, street children, and child slaves.
The vision of Paths That Lead To Home is to see Haiti’s children live an abundant life and find hope as they heal and pursue their God-given purpose.
Whether you help through monetary donations, volunteering your time at local events, joining us on international trips, or by spreading our mission through word-of-mouth, Thank YOU! We couldn't accomplish our goals without the help of supporters like you. You are helping us transform the lives of children in the beautiful country of Haiti.
In 2014, at the age of fourteen, Paths That Lead To Home's Founder and President, Emalee Arthur, felt led to go on a mission trip to Haiti with her church out of Tulsa, Oklahoma. While in Haiti, Emalee's heart was captured by the children at an orphanage that her team visited. This orphanage was called CAD. The children at this orphanage came from all different backgrounds; child slavery (restaveks), abandoned street children, children who lost parents from the earthquake in 2010, etc. While spending time at the orphanage, a two year old little boy named Sammy captured her heart. She spent a lot of time coloring, dancing, and pushing little Sammy on the swings. She was extremely heartbroken by the fact that Sammy didn't have any parents or a loving family to take care of him. After returning back to the United States, Emalee could not get these children, specifically Sammy, off of her mind. She knew she would be back to Haiti soon, as the Lord had worked so mightily in her heart.
In the summer of 2018, Emalee got the opportunity to go back to Haiti. Little did she know that she would get to back to visit the children at the CAD Orphanage! Emalee was so thrilled to able to reunite with many of the same children she met in 2014, including Sammy. Little Sammy was now seven years old and so handsome and grown up! Yet, Emalee was devastated by the condition in which these kids were living in, as the orphanage grounds were disgusting and ran down and the children themselves looked so sickly. Emalee left Haiti that summer knowing that she couldn't just leave the children in that condition as she just went back to her privelaged life in Oklahoma. This is where Paths That Lead To Home started.
